Giuseppe Labarbera's review

Illuminamenti

The two artists, with the new works created in the framework of painting-installation, monochrome painting of blacks, with the vertical cut retrace the fascination of a part of the body inserted in a context of representation of sensual cut, pierced, battered, but also as a reference to the wound. In relation to the cut and contrast of velvety light, Elena Idone and Massimo Persona in their works represent an extreme sign/desire. They probably refer to Lucio Fontana's "cuts", freeing, destroying "the spatial fiction of painting" (Argan). The cuts expressed in the canvases as signs that become an alphabet of extreme desire.

A desire to communicate with a part of the body under a soft light.
